When I published my “21 Things About Me” blog on my birthday, (Ate) Aly, my friend Charles’ SO, suggested that I should write more “21” blogs. She said I should write about my 21 firsts after my 21st year (so that would be early January 2009). And then I thought, why not write about the 21 things I want to try for the first time in my 21st year. Brilliant right? hehe. So, thanks to Aly for giving me the idea!
1. Join my first rally. Hindi kasi ako na-require ng teacher na mag-attend ng rally eh.
2. Visit Vargas Museum for the first time. I just wonder how it looks like. Can I bring my camera inside?
3. Receive my first real salary. Wait. Kaya ba? I’ll be taking the board in November, so by December I should already be employed.
4. Have my first real relationship. Ma, I’m already 21. haha
5. Join a game show on TV! My Mama is convicing me, so is my Mommy (my auntie, my dad’s sister), so I might try joining one.
6. Buy my first Bench product. I really have been trying to buy myself a Bench tee, but I cannot. Maybe I was a gum in my past life; a gum that was forever stuck on a bench in a park. Kaya my subconscious don’t like Bench. (haha… corny. sorry, pinilit lang!)
7. Scuba dive for the first time. And then I’ll bring my camera with me and take pictures of the underwater rainforest.
8. Give something to a street kid, something useful. I’ve been thinking about this for like my entire college life. But the thing is, I don’t know if it’s the right thing to do.
9. Read the entire Bible. A dormmate once said that his literature prof recommended doing so. The Bible is not only one of the foundations of Christianity, it is also a great piece of literature, his prof said.
10. Go to the farthest North. Can anyone take me to Batanes with them?
11. Watch Titanic, Shakespeare In Love, Moulin Rouge, Casablanca (as a friend suggested… The Godfather din daw pala) and all other great movies that I haven’t seen yet.
12. Join a cause-oriented group. It should be about the environment, or maybe about animals, or better yet about helping improving lives in the Philippines.
13. Drink until I space out. It’s just for the sake of experiencing it. I really don’t see myself being a lasengero, so no worries. I just want to be able to say that even for once in my life I’ve been really drunk.
14. Ride LRT1. I use MRT3 and LRT2 often, but I haven’t tried riding LRT1 yet.
15. Paint. Wahaha. I haven’t even mastered Photoshop yet. Yeah, you guessed right, I’m a jack of all trades and master of none. Anyway, where should I start with painting? Buy my own brushes?
16. Write my own short story. I’ve been conceptualizing since 3rd year I think. But I don’t know how the flow will go. I don’t think that my characters are that interesting. But I’ll try anyway. Aja!
17. Befriend a foreigner. I’m always intimidated by them. I’m afraid of cultural differences.
18 . Visit Libis, Eastwood, and other “cool” places I haven’t been to yet. Sorry, that’s the price you pay for being a good boy and a good student. hehe. But since it’s already my last semester in college (cross fingers), maybe I can loosen up a bit already.
19. Mountain climb! Ate Beth, the sister of Cath, one of my closest friends, had been inviting me to a climb for several times already. But since, I have a really light load this semester, maybe I’ll go with her next time! Remind me to buy Off!
20. Attend a photography seminar. I really need help with my photography! I want to be the greatest… Bwahaha (hehe, enough with the evil laugh)
21. Eat balut! haha. I haven’t tried yet. I don’t like the idea of eating a whole, unborn, premature chick, with all the feathers and everything. haha. But I’ll try. I hope it only tastes like Penoy.
*** That’s a lot of firsts! This would be a busy year indeed. Approximately, I should accomplish one first for every two weeks to get this done… haha… Good Luck to me!
