A Tribute To Janina Part II

Another mix from DJ Dense Modesto.  Still about Ms. San Miguel.  This one is featuring Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez and her reaction when asked about Ms. San Miguel’s mishap.  Aw, it’s catchy, nakaka-LSS.  “Beauty, beauty with a purpose.  Beauty, beauty with a purpose”  This can be a good dance mix, if ever some producer will pick it up and release it as a single. hehe

Photoshoot

My friend Jerome (click here for his multiply page) asked for a favor.  He needed a most recent whole body picture as a requirement of some sort.  So I agreed (di n’ya lang alam pinag-practice-san ko lang s’ya haha… Peace Yep! Ü).  Here’s a photo of him doing the Wawen Sign. :p (bawal daw kasi i-post ang iba… hehe)

Murder

After Whammy and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, GMA7 murdered yet another show.  The victim this time is Freemantle’s Idol franchise.  Probably the world’s most successful reality talent search (after Endemol’s Academy franchise :p), GMA7 just killed the franchise by selecting Jolina Magdangal as one of the judges.  She’s supposed to be Pinoy Idol’s Paula Abdul.  C’mon, what’s Jolina’s achievements compared to Paula’s (click here, for Paula’s credentials).  Seriously, somebody should stop the foreign franchise show serial killer that is GMA7.

The Ultimate (Korean) Love Story Of All Time

No, it’s not Sassy Girl, nor Windstruck, nor Full House, nor Coffee Prince, nor Princess Hours, not even It Started With A Kiss.  All of the above mentioned Korean Films and TV Series are great in their own rights, but nothing really compares to The Classic [2003] (click here for the plot, but do not if you’re planning to watch this).

So far, it is my favorite love story.  The film tells two love stories; first, a love so great that the guy is willing to sacrifice his own happiness just to give his girl a better (but not necessarily happier) life, and second, a love so pure that the guy is afraid to confess his feelings, fearing that the girl doesn’t feel the same.  Classic love stories right?  And on top of that, the musical scores, lighting, texture and cinematography all work together to tell a sweeter story.

For a hopeless romantic that is into serious relationships like me, this is the perfect love story.  This is great for Valentines. Ü

LSS: Almost Lover

I’m pretty crazy about this song right now (primarily because of the lyrics). It’s sung by A Fine Frenzy. Since, it’s not available in Imeem yet, I’ll just post the lyrics here. Enjoy! Ü

Almost Lover
A Fine Frenzy

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick

Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you’d want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, never forget
These images

No

Well, I’d never want to see you unhappy
I thought you’d want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should’ve known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you’re gone and I’m haunted
And I bet you are just fine

Did I make it that
Easy to walk right in and out
Of my life?

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I’m trying not to think about you
Can’t you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should have known you’d bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

Vincent The Good

Heard this news from ABS-CBN. After Charice Pempengco wowed YouTube viewers worldwide and even caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, another pinoy is now on the spotlight of the international entertainment stage.

Vincent Bueno, a pure-blooded Filipino born and raised in Austria, won the recently concluded “Musical: Die Show” (“Musical: The Show). The show is a reality show like the American Idol but focused on songs from musicals (Movie, Theater, and TV). His win was considered a landslide with his total votes (text and phone) reaching 60+%; his co-finalist only garnered 30+% votes.

I was intrigued with this guy and I was even intrigued with his win so I checked him out over at YouTube and WOW! He really deserved to win. His renditions give me the goosebumps.

Check these out, these are his performances during the contest:
